She suffered from anorexia and an addiction to cocaine that caused her to attempt suicide twice. But Dotsie Bausch was strong enough to ask for help and started all over again to become Olympic silver medalist and most of all, a source of inspiration. The American cyclist ended up winning eight national championships, two Pan American gold medals and set a world record. She was almost 40 in 2012, when she stepped on the podium in London to receive the silver medal: the oldest Olympic athlete to compete in the discipline.
